Belden has launched a new lineup of next-generation connectivity and cybersecurity products designed for critical applications. The releases include gel-free fiber cables, extended Ethernet reach solutions, and advanced OT (operational technology) network protection, aimed at supporting evolving automation needs and the growing demands of smart infrastructure.
Belden’s Gel-Free Loose Tube Optical Fiber Cables feature a compact, resilient design that delivers robust connectivity while eliminating the need for messy gel compounds. These cables are engineered to resist moisture intrusion and provide long-term durability in demanding operational environments, and they are now available in the EMEA region.
The St. Louis, Missouri-based company detailed that its Classics Essential-Lite LSZH IEC-EN Rated Cables deliver enhanced analog and serial data performance. They also carry a Low Smoke Zero Halogen rating, making them suitable for standard indoor environments.
Belden’s RemoteIP OSP Cables are designed with a cost-effective, simplified construction for easy deployment. These cables extend Ethernet channel distances up to 215 meters while maintaining low heat output and minimal power loss. As the newest addition to the RemoteIP line, they are fully compatible with REVConnect connectivity.
The Belden Industrial Firewall IAF-240 offers scalable, multi-layered protection for critical OT networks. It provides deep visibility, threat prevention, and high availability in a compact, industrial-grade design intended to reduce risk and minimize downtime. The IAF-240 is designed to maximize uptime by enabling cybersecurity policies that prevent network disruptions caused by threats and anomalies. It delivers reliable performance in harsh environments through its compact, industrial-grade design, wide operating temperature range, and hazardous location approvals.
The device ensures high availability that goes beyond basic redundancy by offering a multiple-firewall solution capable of taking over traffic if one firewall fails. It also helps reduce the total cost of ownership by combining comprehensive cybersecurity functionality and edge computing in a single solution, eliminating the need for standalone systems.
In addition, the IAF-240 reduces risk by extending beyond standard firewall activity to provide intrusion and threat detection and prevention, anti-virus capabilities, identity management, and other advanced protections.
Belden has also released Version 1.11 of its PROVIZE Suite network planning and commissioning software. The update introduces network planning support for the GREYHOUND2000 switch and a new MultiConfig feature in PROVIZE Explorer, which enables users to update the firmware of multiple devices simultaneously, saving time. Additional improvements further simplify planning and commissioning processes.
Additionally, Hirschmann BOBCAT Switches have received certification for compliance with IEC 62443-4-2, a Security Level 2 functional requirement, an international standard that addresses cybersecurity in industrial automation and control systems.
