Mind Springs Health has a new name, operator and outlook after being acquired today, April 7.
The newly in-charge organization, Health Solutions, is a non-profit medical and behavioral healthcare provider founded in Pueblo more than 60 years ago.
In line with the Front Range provider’s branding, Mind Springs was renamed Health Solutions West once the operational overtake was approved by the appropriate regulatory agencies.
“Community members deserve stability, compassion, and access to care when they need it,” Health Solutions Chief Executive Officer Jason Chippeaux said. “We are here to listen, to collaborate, and to build something stronger together.”
According to a Health Solutions press release, the arrangement comes at a critical time with growing community concerns about mental healthcare quality, consistency and availability across the Western Slope.
The press release added that current Mind Springs clients will continue receiving services without interruption and should attend appointments as planned.

Chippeaux, who will also serve as CEO for the western counterpart, said in a press release that this transition will bring reliable services to the area but did not mention specifics.
“For years, Health Solutions has built a trusted model of care in rural Colorado, meeting people where they are and supporting the whole person,” Chippeaux said. “We are ready to bring that same commitment to Western Colorado — to earn trust, improve outcomes, and create a safety net system that communities can count on.”
No mention of West Springs Psychiatric Hospital, a potential for reopening or planned alternative service lines were mentioned in the press release.
The release added that existing Mind Springs locations will remain open, and staff across the region are being engaged by Health Solutions to ensure “local experience and relationships are preserved.”
This venture will be Health Solutions’s first expansion into western Colorado, but they have experience in rural areas like Huerfano and Las Animas counties.
Health Solutions operates several services, including an Acute Treatment Unit (inpatient care with slightly less acuity capacity than West Springs), Medication-Assisted Recovery Center, outpatient mental healthcare, a mobile crisis intervention team and a childcare facility centered around social-emotional learning.
